I was introduced to this book when I was researching books for my text set! I like David Weisner's work, and would be interested in looking through this book, too!

I was introduced to this book from a classmate. I skimmed through it, because the cover and the book's jacket caught my attention. I can't wait to read this!!

The Invention of Hugo Cabret
Brian Selznick

I was introduced to this book in class! It comes highly recommended, and I really, really want to read this book! The illustrations and text seem very, very interesting!!

Freedom Ship
Curtis James

I was introduced to this book during a genre presentation in class.  There is a series of book with the titles of Freedom _______. I think these books would help aid in my future classrooms about the topic of slavery.  I want to read the other Freedom books, as well!

Gossamer
Lois Lowry

I was introduced to this book during a text set presentation.  I've read a couple other Lois Lowry books, and I feel like I would enjoy this book just as much as the others I have read!!

Tuesday
David Weisner

I was introduced to David Weisner in class. I read his book Flotsam, and really want to look into more of his work! This book looked interesting as well!

Owl Moon
Jane Yolen

I did an author presentation on Jane Yolen and someone else presented this book during a genre presentation.  I want to read this because I've read and heard great things about it.

Thea's Tree
Allison Jackson

I was introduced to this book during a genre presentation and it looked very interesting!

Coraline
Neil Gaiman

I was introduced to this book during a genre presentation as well. I knew this was a movie, and heard it was awesome: I never got the chance to see it. However, I also did not know it was a book! I definitely want to read this first, then watch the movie!

The Princess and the Pizza
Mary Jane and Herm Auch

I learned about this book during a genre presentation.  The reviewer had such awesome things to say about it, that I really, really, want to pick this up!

Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm
Neil Philip and Isabelle Brent

These collection of stories was brought to my attention again! I've heard about the original fairy tales, but I have never actually read them. I think it would be really interesting to go back and read them all now, as an adult who knows the other versions of these stories!

Jumanji
Chris Van Allsburg

I have still never read this book, and keep forgetting about it! After learning about the author, Van Allsburg, I have decided that I really want to read more of his works!  I have read The Polar Express, and liked that, so I think I would like this book! I learned of this book and author during a book talk in class.  He is an author and illustrator of many books, and I want remember him for future readings! His books have twists of irony at the end and showcase the darker side of human nature, which could be very interesting and engaging for students.  Other books to keep on my reading list include:
-The Two Bad Ants
-The Garden of Abdul Gasazi
-The Mysteries of Harris Burdick
-The Stranger
-Probuditi

Madalenki's Dog
Peter Sis

I was introduced to this book in a book talk in class as well.  This book was appealing to me because of its interesting illustrations.  Besides being just on regular paper, this book's illustrations also include pop outs!  I think this is very cool, and interactive for students as they go along reading!  We learned about the author in class and about his childhood of growing up in the Soviet Union, and how his books are based off of his experiences growing up.  This book and author really intrigued me and caught my attention, and I intend to read it in the near future!
